Sandberg, Phoenix & von Gontard, P.C. (SPvG) was founded in 1979 by nine attorneys. Today, SPvG has a team of over sixty-five attorneys, sixteen paralegals, and well over eighty staff members, all of whom are dedicated to delivering legal services that are responsive to the needs of our clients. Client satisfaction is our objective and creed.
In May of 1998, we merged with the corporate and business litigation firm of Davis, Davis, Kasnetz & Greenberg. This move helped build on our reputation as a stellar trial firm and positioned us as a premier business firm as well. The merger also helped strengthen our overall legal services and led to the creation of our four practice groups: Business, Business Litigation, Products Liability, and Health Law - Medical Malpractice.
The SPvG main office is located in the City Centre building in downtown St. Louis. Recently, we completed a total renovation of our main office space, which boasts a modern new look. In the winter of 2005, the firm expanded our products liability practice, and we now occupy three full floors. In October of 2003, SPvG reaffirmed our commitment to Southern Illinois when we opened an office which is located in Carbondale, Illinois and managed by shareholder, Kathleen L. Pine. To better serve our clients in Madison County, SPvG opened a third office in Edwardsville, Illinois during February of 2008, which is managed by shareholder, Anthony L. Martin.
As the firm's litigation practice continues to grow, so does the firm's commitment to training our associates. To help enhance our training experience, in January of 2005, the firm built a courtroom in our St. Louis office. The SPvG Courtroom includes state-of-the-art technology, courtroom-like logistics, and a jury room. The facility provides our attorneys, clients and witnesses with a complete courtroom experience in advance of trial. We can also use this courtroom for mock trials.
Our history of growing and expanding our practice continues to this day. SPvG looks to the future by continuing to recruit and train the brightest lawyers for our practice.
